Dominion - ctd
Another couple of reasons why Dominion's great (having just played a couple of games): We all get so pissed off when we're losing and when we find out we've lost. (Because you know you've played badly, you can't blame luck.) We also find it hard to work out who's winning through the game and usually feel like we're losing even if we're winning, so most of the time we're pretty grumpy when playing! Probably not everyone would consider this good but I think a great game should have the power to change your emotions. And essentially that's where I struggle with co-op games like Pandemic, I just don't care if "we" beat the game, I don't feel anything.

Slowballs, that was a review which reflects many of my feelings about Dominion. Did I tell you that I introduced to someone recently who was only able to get 1hr sleep that night for thinking about it! He went out the very next day and bought it (plus the intrigue expansion!).
However, I'm going to have to defend Pandemic. It's like doing a crossword (which are often done with other people). It's about the intellectual challenge. It stretches the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex. And all that to a game that looks a little bit like the 80's classic WarGames with Matthew Broderick!
Oh, and there's an expansion for pandemic where one of you is a bioterroist and can screw the rest of the players over. nice.
"on the brink", yes I've heard of that. I'll give it more of a go sometime, maybe today, I've got a few friends coming round soon for a gaming extravaganza! Also, I think your comment could have made a post in its self, it's quite long and informative!
